Winning taste
Japan holds B-1, a national competition where provinces or cities with their regional class-B food compete for the best food. Class-B food includes ramen noodles, savory pancakes and other reasonably priced foods that are below 1,000 yen ($11). The city of Fujinomiya, the recent winner with its chowmien (fried noodles), now has a snack made after it. Frito-Lay created the B-1 Grand Prix Corn Snack that features the taste of the chow mien, which is favored for its meat, fish flakes and pickled ginger toppings. A pack retails at $1.28.
