Vaccinating Cows

A commercial feedlot study conducted by Canadian-based Bioniche Life Sciences found a two-dose vaccine regimen to effectively reduce the probability for E. coli O157:H7 colonization of the terminal rectal mucosa (TRM) of commercially fed cattle. The E. coli O157 vaccine called Econiche proved its efficacy against type III secreted proteins of enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli O157: H7. The company has also recently received the USDA conditional license for the vaccine to be used on cattle. More needles will be sent to the cows for our good.
