Treatt launches flavor specialties
Treatt has extended its range of FEMA-accredited specialty chemical ingredients with the launch of six new synthetic nature-identical products.
Developed to provide high impact top notes, the latest introductions deliver a wide variety of authentic, well-rounded aromas to a range of sweet and savory applications.
The company says Green, earthy, nutty, geranium, tomato-like characteristics make 4,5-Dimethyl-2-isobutylthiazole; 2-isobutyl-4,5-dimethylthiazole applicable in a variety of floral and vegetable formulations.
Key applications include beverages where a dose of 0.001 parts per million (ppm) is recommended, hard confectionery where 0.005-0.5ppm confers the desired impact, and seasonings.
Imparting roast meat, butter and cooked garlic clam notes, Tetrahydrothiophen-3-one; 4,5-Dihydro-3(2H)thiophenone is found in coffee, cooked beef, roast filbert and roast peanut.
The ingredient is suitable for use at varying dosage levels, depending on the required application.
For roast and HVP flavors for example, 0.5-5 ppm should be used, while 0.01-1 ppm is recommended for coffee, chocolate, roast nut, toasted cereal, meat spice soup and savory flavors.
