The Hibiscus Treattarome 9766 enables manufacturers to create beverages with natural, exotic flavors and clarity. It is produced from the calyx of Hibiscus sabdariffa using the company’s distillation technology to obtain maximum flavor with minimum processing intervention. No oil or alcohol is added and the resulting distillate is clear and soluble in water. Used at levels of 0.2%, the ingredient imparts a strong berry-like character with a fresh leafy top note. This fruity, floral scent of hibiscus is the result of components present such as hexanal, trans-2-hexenal, cis-3-hexenol, nonanal, furfural, eucalyptol, linalool oxides, linalool, and alpha-terpineol.
