System reveals purity differences among bottled water brands

JMAR Technologies, an innovator in the development and commercialization of sensing systems for the detection of chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosive materials, announced the results of an independent study into the different purity levels of the leading brands of bottled water based on the company’s pathogen detection technology.

The findings revealed that many of the higher priced brands contained heavier concentrations of bio-particle contamination than less expensive brands.

These results indicate that, in addition to protecting water supplies against contamination, BioSentry detection systems can be used to protect consumers.

The company expects to focus its initial marketing efforts for BioSentry towards the beverage, pharmaceutical, food processing and healthcare markets.
