Shuttle bottle brings wine drinking to the outdoors
Hardy Wine Company’s ‘Shuttle’ wine bottle is a tamper-proof package that is opened by a twist-top action. Developed originally for the Australian season of Varekai—a Cirque du Soleil show—the 187millileter (single-serve) acrylic wine bottle is sealed by its own acrylic wine glass.
The company says the packaging technology can be used at sporting and other outdoor events, concerts and performances, where glassware is not permitted for safety reasons.
"Another benefit is the peace of mind from a consumer safety point of view, because the consumer opens their own bottle—each time, every time if they desire," explains Miriam Leenders, global marketing manager.
