SABMiller releases half-year results

SABMiller says it has delivered satisfactory growth for the half-year.

Total beverage volumes were up nine percent on an organic basis, and 30 percent above last year on a reported basis at 144 million hectoliters. Total lager volumes were 117 million hectoliters.

There was particularly strong lager-volume growth in Europe, with market share gains in a number of countries buoyed by the World Cup. In China, SABMiller’s associate, CR Snow, became the country’s largest brewer by sales volume in the first half of calendar 2006, and its national brand ‘Snow’ moved into the top ten beer brands by volume worldwide.
