Producing bottles fast
Wilmington Machinery's new dual parison technology is enabling production rates from 800 bottles per minute to 1200 bottles per minute, which is believed to be one of the fasted commercially available.
The company recently shipped the first dual parison Small Bottle (SB) rotary extrusion blow molding line producing 80 ml HDPE bottles at a rate of 800 per minute, operating at the very fast cycle time of 10 RPM (six seconds).
The MSB40 Dual Parison machine has 40 stations, 4" extruder and Wilmington's uniquely designed high-output dual parison diehead.
The turnkey system includes molds, bottle conveying and high-speed rotary spin trimmer. It produces weight variation of less than +/- 0.05 grams, yielding excellent material distribution.
The system is the first of several new dual parison models that Wilmington plans to build.
All models are designed to be energy efficient, economical and save floor space.
Coming up next is its model MSB60 DP that can produce 80 ml lightweight type bottles at 1,200 bottles per minute.
