Positive industry reception for Oishii Japan

Since its launch in August 2010, Oishii Japan has received strong support from various government and trade agencies, and food and beverage industry associations and professionals.

The inaugural exhibition, to be held at Suntec Singapore from 27 to 29 October 2011 will showcase Japanese food and beverages, and setting up food businesses outside Japan.

The show is organized by TSO MP International, a joint-venture set up by MP International of Singapore and Tokyo-based TradeShow Organizers.

The latter is the organizer of Izakaya Expo and Ramen Expo in Japan.

Response to the show is expected to be positive as there is strong demand for Japanese food in Asia.

According to Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO, Asia was Japan's biggest food product market, contributing $2.1 billion or some 60% of its food exports in 2009.

Seven of the top 10 importers were Asian countries, including Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
