PETnology Europe 2007 highlights industry barriers

‘Connecting competence’ was the theme of PETnology Europe 2007. More than 280 PET packaging and filling experts from 33 countries met for the 10th PETnology conference in Munich, from 26th to 27th March 2007.

The event focused on PET strategies from a technology, market trends and marketing point of view.

Six percent of the participants came from Asia and North America, while over 50% originated from German-speaking countries (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland), and 34% came from other European countries.

The panel discussed markets and strategies, innovations and technologies along the value-added chain of PET packaging, as well as trends in plant design (filling, bottle and preform production). Packaging, machine and plant-technology barriers, as well as operating costs were highlighted as the biggest challenges of the future.
