Palsgaard chairman retires after 62 years

The 88-year old Knud Brix has retired as chairman of the Schou Foundation, which also owns Danish emulsifier manufacturer Palsgaard A/S.

Palsgaard says while long term board member Rasmus Christiansen takes over the post, Brix still works in the office but without any formal responsibilities.

Brix began working for Palsgaard in 1948 as secretary to owner Herbert Schou – son of Palsgaard founder and inventor of a synthetic emulsifier, Einar V. Schou.

By 1966, he had become both chairman and MD of the Schou Foundation.

In 1992 he retired as MD and left the reigns to his son Birger Brix, who took over as MD.

However, Brix senior still attends the weekly management meetings.
