Ocean Spray strengthens position in Asia

Ocean Spray Ingredient Technology Group (ITG) has extended its partnership with Spectrum Ingredients to further develop the market for cranberry ingredients in Southeast Asia.

Spectrum Ingredients is now the sole representative of Ocean Spray ITG in Thailand, where it will promote the cranberry ingredient portfolio to food and beverage manufacturers.

Ocean Spray has worked with Spectrum in Malaysia and Singapore since 1991 and has witnessed the demand for cranberry rise dramatically over the past decade.

“We have already found success with the cranberry in Malaysia and Singapore, supported by consumer awareness of its holistic health benefits,” comments Ken Davis, managing director, Spectrum Ingredients.

“It is performing well in the bakery segment, and we are now increasing our efforts in the snacking and trail mix categories, where there is strong growth potential. We are excited to be extending our business relationship with Ocean Spray into Thailand and helping food manufacturers develop healthy, delicious products.”
