Noodles bring Indofood double-digit growth

Indofood has reported an 18.8 percent increase in first quarter sales in 2007. The company announced consolidated net sales of $660 million.

Despite rising costs of wheat, its Consumer Branded Products Strategic Business Group (SBG) posted13-percent rise in total sales, partly due to double-digit growth in noodles sales volume. The company’s Bogasari (flour), edible oils and fats, and distribution SBGs registered growth in total sales of 17.2 percent, 39.3 percent and 19.6 percent respectively.

“Our ongoing implementation of cost efficiency programs has continued to curb the effects on costs”, says Anthoni Salim, president director and chief executive officer.
