New wine and gourmet trade fair in Tokyo
Wine & Gourmet Japan 2009, co-located with FABEX, Dessert, Sweet & Drink Festival and Japan Meat Industry Festival opens in Tokyo Big Sight from 22 to 24 April 2009.
The premiere Wine & Gourmet Japan will showcase 60 exhibitors and brands from around the world.
About 70% of exhibitors are from countries such as Australia, Chile, Spain, Taiwan and the US.
Show organizer Kolnmesse says the show is the first dedicated professional exhibition for wine and spirits, gourmet and fine food, confectionery, food catering and foodservice equipment and supplies for the Japanese market.
At the show Australia, Spain and the US will have their group pavilions with the biggest being Australia.
The Government of South Australia is also bringing a group of 18 producers, most of them being wine producers from the premium wine region.
Japanese exhibitors such as Far East Inc will showcase an exotic bazaar of products from all over the world including various spices and salts.
Other exhibitors include Kyodo International, which produces a variety of processed meat products such as Prosciutto di Parma; cheese importer Sekai Cheese Shokai, Wing Ace Corp, which specializes in western food such as pickles, olives and pasta; and awamori producer Zuisen Distillery.
