Monitoring water quality data

Millipore Corp has introduced Millitrack, a web graphical user interface software tool for Millipore water purification system users.

The new software enables long-term electronic archiving of water quality records, as well as remote access to a water purification system for real-time remote monitoring.

In the interest of full traceability, the software allows users to save monitoring data from their water purification system on a long-term basis, including resistivity/conductivity measurements, total organic carbon (TOC) levels, and system parameters.

Records that are archived and indexed using the software can also be exported to a database file that has a data management tool such as laboratory information system (LIMS), enterprise content management/ scientific data management system (ECM/SDMS) and electronic laboratory notebook (ECM/SDMS).

In addition to data storage, the new software also allows for remote access.

Once Millitrack software is installed, a lab manager is able to leave the ‘wet lab’ space where the water purification system is located and then continue monitoring water quality data from an office computer—while simultaneously keeping an eye on other projects.
