Mettler Toledo acquires Smiths Detection Product Inspection division

Mettler-Toledo has acquired the Smiths Detection Product Inspection division and will adopt the Eagle brand of food x-ray inspection systems.

Now part of Mettler-Toledo's Product Inspection division, the Eagle business will continue to operate as a separate entity using existing sales and service channels.

Eagle's x-ray inspection systems detect contaminants such as metal, glass, stone and bone while also having the ability to check mass, evaluate compartmentalized fill level, and analyze fat content.
