LycoRed announces the opening of a new plant in Changzhou, China, which will commercially produce premixes for the food and beverage industry for nutritional fortification in Asia by the end of this year.
LycoRed announces the opening of a new plant in Changzhou, China, which will commercially produce premixes for the food and beverage industry for nutritional fortification in Asia by the end of this year. Research conducted by the company shows a growing demand for nutritional premixes in Asia Pacifi c, in addition to accelerated demand for its ingredient Lyc-O-Mato in Japan, China and Thailand. These fi ndings have encouraged the company to build the new facility in China, establish and develop closer partnerships with its suppliers and provide comprehensive healthy ingredient and premix solutions to its customers.
“Once we establish a relationship with a new client, it is important to be responsive to its needs in terms of real-time return, accessibility and providing tailor-made solutions in one location”, says president and CEO Morris Zelkha.
With ecological responsibility in mind, the modern construction, materials and systems were used and installed in the plant to minimize energy requirements and optimize the use of water during plant and equipment clean-downs. LycoRed is currently completing equipment validation and securing the necessary quality certifi cations for production, including Food Safety System Certifi cation (FSSC) and MUI Halal.
