Lomold Group launches new pallet system
Lomold Group is launching a pallet system for fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) at the K 2010 Fair in Dusseldorf, Germany and Pack Expo in Chicago.
The components are produced from the company's patented long-(glass) fiber thermoplastic (LFT) injection-molding process using tough polypropylene composite.
It won a coveted JEC composites award earlier this year for its one-piece pallet produced via the same molding process.
The new pallet is a multi-piece system whose top and bottom decks and numerous optional components snap-fit into place and can be removed when not needed.
When not in use, both top and bottom decks are nestable (after unloading and / or detaching one from the other), greatly reducing the footprint needed to store or ship empty pallets.
At less than 30 pounds (depending on configuration), the rental pool pallets are lighter than typical wood pallets (88 pounds) of the same size or load rating, and alternatives such as plastic and composite.
