International Paper Introduces 1.75 and 1.5 Liter Cartons

International Paper’s beverage packaging business has introduced new 1.75 and 1.5-Liter Slim cartons, as well as Evergreen’s EH-3S gable top filling machine.

The Slim carton, a multi-serve package available in 1.5L and 1.75L sizes, features a new smaller cross-section. This new offering reportedly gives the carton a unique size and shape making it easy to hold, pour, and fit in a refrigerator door. Additionally, a pyramid bottom adds stability to the Slim carton on retail shelves. The Slim carton uses International Paper’s patented TruTaste barrier boards to maximize shelf life, and a 28mm Spout-Pak opening for easy pouring and resealing.

The EH-3S packaging machine uses Evergreen’s proven EH-3 platform to form, fill and seal both 1.75L and 1.5L sizes at speeds up to 8,400 cartons per hour (140cpm) while including all of the same Extended Long Life (ELL) features as the EH-3. These features include a double Class 100 HEPA system (High Efficiency Particulate Air), auto sanitizer, self-contained CIP/SIP (clean in place/sterilization in place), and other great features that help to maintain product shelf life. ELL refrigerated packaging can reduce distribution costs by allowing customers to expand delivery areas and reduce return rates with longer code life, while providing consumers with confidence in product freshness.
