Grease-free molds

Sidel’s Kohlox, a new, self-lubricating composite material for studs and wear rings requires two minutes per operator per mold for weekly maintenance. The thermo composite material has a low coefficient of friction, which helps parts to move freely without lubrication. Developed after two years of research and development, Kohlox compromises between mechanical resistance to impact and compression, while ensuring a free movement of parts. There are two new grease-free parts for the molds: wear rings for mold bottoms and female studs. These new parts were tested and validated on an industrial scale with Nestlé Waters Est France in 2009.
