Gentle snack seasoning

Heat and Control’s FastBack revolution seasoning application system features the gentle FastBack horizontal motion conveyor and the Excaliber seasoning feeder for packaging and on-machine seasoning applications. Instead of dropping delicate snacks into a separate tumble drum, the system slides the product into a revolving drum, which is integrated into the Fastback conveyor flushed with the bottom of the pan. The slowforward fast-back motion of the system reduces breakage by up to 60% compared with vibratory conveying, and reduces product build-up in the conveyor pan.

Precise product feed control, unaffected by product density or bed depth, is maintained by the FastBack horizontal motion conveyor. The Excaliber seasoning feeder measures product into the drum where special flights gently mix seasoning and product for uniform application. The seasoning feed rate automatically adjusts to match changes in product flow, improving coating uniformity and reducing seasoning waste.
