Gadot Biochemical Industries achieves BRC certification
Gadot Biochemical Industries (GBI) has attained British Retail Consortium (BRC) Certification with Grade A for the manufacture of citric acid and sodium citrate.
Following the increased number of number of food safety scares worldwide, a consortium of international retailers identified the need to enhance food safety, ensure consumer protection and strengthen consumer confidence.
The Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) was subsequently launched, setting requirements for food safety schemes through a benchmarking process in order to improve consumer protection and cost efficiency throughout the food supply chain.
To further strengthen the move toward greater protection, the British Retail Consortium (BRC) developed and introduced the BRC Food Technical Standard to be used to evaluate manufacturers of private brand food products.
It is designed to assist retailers and brand owners in producing food products of consistent safety and quality and assist ingredient suppliers pursuing due diligence in their production methodology.
