Emerson opens two campuses in China, launches wireless process control in Singapore
Emerson Process Management has opened two technology centers in Tianjin, China, to help meet the rising demand for control-valve and valve-automation products in the region. The facilities feature advanced flow laboratories to investigate valve technologies and verify valve-performance capabilities.
In Singapore, the company has released its Smart Wireless Solutions to help manufacturers collect previously-unreachable data in their plants. By imbedding this predictive intelligence, companies can monitor potential sources of shutdown, improve output, lower costs and increase safety. Field trials in the last three years have demonstrated a reported 99-percent network reliability.
“Wireless measurement technology will help users see and control more of what happens in their plants,” explains Harry Forbes, an analyst with the ARC Advisory Group. “Besides huge savings in installation costs, this will drive fundamental process and automation improvements that are not possible with wired measurements.”
