Don Schaffner joins IAFP executive board

Members of the International Association for Food Protection (IAFP) have elected Donald W. Schaffner, Ph.D., to the executive board as secretary. Dr Schaffner will take office at the conclusion of IAFP 2010 in Anaheim, California and will fulfill a five-year commitment to the association, serving as president beginning in August 2014. Dr Schaffner is the extension specialist in Food Science and Professor at Rutgers University and serves as the director of the Center for Advanced Food Technology. He has served in national and international expert panels and committees for organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO), Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT).
