CP Kelco begins production at new facility
CP Kelco has announced the completion of its newest hydrocolloid facility in Taixing, China.
The facility complies with China Food good manufacturing practice (GMP) standards, and is able to produce carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) for the food, paper, oilfield and industrial markets.
The facility is designed to produce 15,000 mt/year with the ability to expand to accommodate future demand.
It will feature the new Majol CMC brand, which is a highly purified cold-water-soluble polymer.
The company says the polymer will comply with China’s Food Safety Law that went into effect June 1 and the manufacturing process will comply with the China Food cGMP standards.
The ingredient is applicable for use in food applications such as ice cream, dairy products, bakery, salad dressing, beverage, meat and pet food.
