Cibus 2010 showcases made-in-Italy agro-food
Leaders of all the Italian made-in-Italy agro-food sectors have confirmed their participation at the 15th Edition of Cibus, the International Food Fair, which will be held in Parma from May 10 to 13, 2010.
About 2,500 exhibitors will show more than 11,000 products over the 130,000 sqm exhibition area.
About 7,000 foreign professionals from 110 countries are expected to attend the show, thanks also to the investment by the Italian Foreign Trade Institute and charter flights from Paris that is arranged by Fiere di Parma in cooperation with Cariparma - Credit Agricole.
For the first time, an exhibition area has been set aside for foreign retail chains to display their premium brand lines and meet with companies to integrate these with Made-in-Italy products.
Retailers will also hold seminars to discuss their experience in selecting ranges and the Cibus International Export Awards will be presented to the brands, by category, which best promoted Italian products as well as to brands which have particularly excelled on the foreign retail market.
“Thanks to the fruitful cooperation with the Italian Foreign Trade Institute, the Ministry for Economic Development and the Emilia Romagna Region, participation by foreign countries will be much higher: France will be the country of honor, Japan and South East China will be the focus areas, the US and Switzerland will be the target countries with dedicated areas and products, and there will also be the traditional focus on strategic markets for made-in-Italy foods such as Great Britain, Germany, Russia, the Benelux and the Baltic States," says Elda Ghiretti, Cibus manager.
