BENEO-Institute to hold nutrition symposium in Singapore

The BENEO-Institute will be hosting a symposium during the 11th Asian Congress of Nutrition in Singapore on July 13.

Chaired by Professor Jeya Henry, Oxford Brookes University, UK, the session entitled “Nutritional Quality of Carbohydrates” will provide insights into the characteristics and physiological benefits carbohydrates such as dietary fibers can have on human health.

It will also provide an regulatory update on status and claims.

Other presenters include Professor Ismail Noo, University Kebangsaan Malaysia, Malaysia, Dr. Ruth Chan, Chinese University of Hong Kong, China, and Professor Rob Rastall, University of Reading, UK.

They will address weight management issues in Asia, how carbohydrates may contribute and the relevant health benefits prebiotics provide to humans.
