Ball releases 2006 results

Double-digit growth in metal beverage packaging in China drove up Ball’s 2006 figures.

The company reported net earnings of $329.6 million, or $3.14 per diluted share, on sales of $6.62 billion, compared to $272.1 million, or $2.48 per diluted share, on sales of $5.75 billion in 2005.

Fourth quarter 2006 net earnings were $48.3 million, or 46 cents per diluted share, on sales of $1.59 billion, compared to $47.4 million, or 45 cents per diluted share, on sales of $1.29 billion in the fourth quarter of 2005.
