Alfa Laval acquires Helpman, partners with Linyi Shansong for soy

Alfa Laval has agreed to buy Dutch air heat exchanger company Helpman which uses exchangers in the food logistics chain for refrigeration and temperature control. Financial details of the transaction were not discussed; and the deal is subject to regulatory approval.

Alfa Laval says the European air heat exchangers market has the potential to expand to $142 million.

Meanwhile, the company’s activities in Asia have continued to grow. Alfa Laval says it has received a $7.8 million order from the Chinese company Linyi Shansong Biological Products, related to membrane separation and fluid handling in soy-protein production.

The heat transfer, centrifugal separation and fluid handling company marks China as its second largest market, estimating that it represents about eight percent of the Group’s total turnover.
