Alcoa supplies Suntory with aluminum closures

Alcoa Closure Systems International (CSI) Japan is providing aluminum closures for Japanese beverage producer Suntory and Japanese convenience store chain FamilyMart.

Alcoa is supplying its 38 millimeter VT-Lok aluminum closures to Suntory for its new alcoholic beverage ‘Ginza Cocktail’. In addition, Alcoa has provided 38 millimeter aluminum closures to FamilyMart for its launch of ‘Iki (fashionably chic)’ series of sake brands from Nihon-Sakari, Haku-Tsuru, Gekkeikan,

“Of special significance, is that “Sake brands are being converted to aluminum bottles from glass packages,” says Sadanobu Kawasaki, director, sales and marketing for CSI Japan.

“We are now re-establishing our relationships with the major sake brands, which have been dormant for 10 years.”
