Novozymes has been named in the Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World.

The ranking was recently announced in Davos, Switzerland, at the World Economic Forum.

The listing of the top 100 most sustainable corporations in the world is an annual project initiated by the Canadian Magazine Corporate Knights.

“Creating sustainable solutions is at the center of Novozymes’ business, and it's therefore a great acknowledgement of our big efforts to promote sustainable solutions,” says executive VP Thomas Nagy.

The list isolates the top 10% of companies from a field of 3,000 global stocks that are ranked based on 10 indicators covering both sustainability standards and social factors.

The 2010 Global 100 measures companies against an objective "sustainable path" standard for energy, carbon, water, and waste ratios and against social indicators such as CEO-to-average worker pay and diversity of board directors.

Other indicators are sustainability leadership, remuneration, innovation capacity, and transparency.
