After a successful first edition, SCA Packaging continues to encourage young talents to present their creativity to the packaging industry with Design Challenge 2009 from November 2, 2009 to April 2010.
This year’s challenge was to create a lean, smart, fat-free packaging solution with the lowest environmental footprint possible for an existing product.
The new packaging concepts need to provide functions such as to:
- bundle and protect the products,
- maximize transport and storage efficiencies, and
- clearly display the products in store.
Last year, some 500 students from 23 countries in Europe applied for the challenge.
Some 90 concepts were submitted and out of which 10 were short listed.
