Products - Danisco pectin relieves cost pressure on jams

1 September 2009

Danisco has lined up a speciality pectin range called Grindsted Pectin SF Extra to optimize the production of jams, jellies and fruit spreads and help manufacturers reduce costs. Manufacturers may find a pectin to be sufficient for most products and regardless of a formulation’s fruit and sugar content, thereby simplifying warehouse stocks and enabling production flexibility. The ingredient allows jams, jellies and fruit spreads to be filled at a higher temperature than when standard pectin types are used. This eliminates the need for a preservative to secure shelf life, and reduces the need for cooling prior to filling.
