Caraustar Mill receives FSC and Sustainable Forestry Initiative certification

Caraustar Industries says it has achieved certification (BV-COC-016456) to the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) chain of custody standards for its Austell Boxboard Mill facility in Austell, GA.

This certification supports the continuation of sustainable fiber sourcing as the mill produces a totally recycled paperboard product.

Producing 100% recycled paperboard since 1949, Caraustar serves the four principal recycled boxboard product end-use markets: tubes and cores; folding cartons; gypsum facing paper and specialty paperboard products.

The company has also announced that the Austell Box Board Mill facility has received certification to the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) chain of custody standard.

FSC and SFI are promotes responsible forest management globally.

Chain of custody is the path taken by raw material harvested from a certified source through processing and manufacturing until it becomes a final product ready for the end consumer.
