Krones is supplying a 90,000-cph line for 250-millilitre cans at Coca-Cola’s facility in Cibitung, Indonesia. The line includes an integrated can warmer that is supported by solar heating.
A new 90,000-cph line for 250-millilitre cans has scheduled to be operational this year at Coca-Cola’s facility in Cibitung, Indonesia. And Krones is supplying the entire line for this plant that includes an integrated can warmer that is supported by solar heating. Solar thermics are ideally suited for delivering process heat as they are technically sophisticated and comparatively affordable.
A solar panel measuring 100 sqm on the roof of the plant supplies part of the thermal energy required, with the rest generated from a conventional way using steam. With solar thermics, steam consumption for the can warmer can be significantly reduced. Cibitung is a solar prototype for this energy-saving initiative that is geared towards a more economical process heat. Other similar systems are currently being planned.
