Danisco hosted a research and business delegation from India last week.

The “Food, Feed and Bioenergy” delegation is visiting Denmark to strengthen research and development collaborations and build partnerships between the two countries.

The delegation consists of businessmen, scientists and officials and is headed by M.K. Bhan, secretary, Department of Biotechnology, Indian Ministry of Science and Technology.

The visit is important to Danisco due to our activities in India and plans to strengthen our presence in the Indian market in the coming years.

“Food, feed and bioenergy are at the core of our business and with the potential in the Indian market, we are naturally interested in establishing contacts to build on our collaborations and research activities in the future,” says Tom Knutzen, CEO of Danisco.

With production of more than 100 million tonnes of milk a year, India is the world’s largest milk producer. Likewise, the market for industrial enzymes is growing fast in India and is currently estimated at $75 million.
