SuperShorty and Sportscap for PCO 1881

1 October 2008

After the conversion of beer in polyethylene terephthalate (PET) from PCO 1810 to PCO 1881 in Germany, Bericap’s SuperShorty has been introduced for aseptic filling in China and for carbonated drinks in Europe.

The next months will see the company increasing its capacity for SuperShorty to more than five billon units.

The venting capacity of the SuperShorty design has been enlarged to ensure safe venting on 2.5-liter bottles filled with up to 4.5 vol%CO2.

Safe venting means that the risk of blow-off is reduced and in cases where consumers unscrew the closure at excessive speeds.

All SuperShorty variants are equipped with the DoubleSeal system for safe sealing.

In addition, SuperShorty ensures proper rinsing after wet decontamination in aseptic filling lines.
