The MengNiu Dairy Company decided to build complete dairy lines in a green field plant for a daily production of up to 1, 800, 000 litres milk per day in Hohhot, the capital of the province Inner Mongolia.
The building and some of the processing equipment was new, while some machinery had to be moved from older plants in the region to this new facility.
Tetra Pak offered a step-by-step modernisation line solution, based on proven equipment and the Tetra PlantMaster, an innovative and modular plant automation solution based on open industry standards and production know-how.
A challenge in the project was that the civil works were not finished when the installation started, but Tetra Pak managed to deliver on time.
Tetra Pak China has earlier received another new order - the new joint venture project of MengNiu and Arla Foods in 2007.
