Sweet treats

Dated: 1 May 2008

Have your cake and eat it—well, in this case, your ice-cream yoghurt. Banging on this tantalizing idea of guilt-free indulgence, Magnolia’s Yoghurt Petite Ice-cream is expected to hit it off with the weight conscious (read: young ladies). Available only in Singapore, the yoghurt sticks come in pretty flavors of mango and strawberry, contain no more than 56 calories each and are trans-fat free. Yoghurt, or the live cultures in it, is beneficial for the gut. A “Healthier Snacks” endorsement by the Health Promotion Board would help put a stamp of well-being on this new product. Still on the low-fat dairy concept, F&N Foods, which owns the Magnolia dairy brand, earlier this year relaunched an improved Lo-Fat Hi-Cal chocolate milk drink. Lower in fat and with added calcium fortification, F&N says their new revamp is no more inferior in taste than full-cream varieties.
