New plant for Purac in Thailand

In response to worldwide growth particularly in bioplastics, Purac offi cially unveiled its biggest lactic acid plant in Thailand in April. The state-of-the art facility, at a full capacity of 100,000 tonnes of lactic acid and 15,000 tonnes of lactates, will boost Purac’s status as the world’s largest producer of natural lactic acid, derivatives and lactides, particularly in the fi eld of bioplastics. Production, which began in November, is in-line with the company’s quality requirements. Its construction was completed safely and according to schedule, said Purac.
