Takasago’s China subsidiary earns ISO 22000 certification

Takasago International Guangzhou (TIG) is taking a serious stance on food safety by earning both ISO 9001 and ISO 22000 certification. The Chinese subsidiary of the Japanese flavors and fragrance manufacturer has adopted the well-known ISO 9001, a standard concerned with quality management; and it has also been awarded ISO 22000, the food-safety management standard launched in 2005 that incorporates hygienic practices compliant with HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point).
In light of recent China food scares, TIG’s pursuit of certification is both relevant and proactive. Formed in 2004 to better service all customers in Asia, the production center for powdered flavors and powdered food-materials was also awarded halal certification from MUI (Majelis Ulama Indonesia) in December 2006.
