BioGaia announces 2005 results

Figures:

- Net sales were $7.5 million, an increase of 2.4 million (47%) compared to the previous year.

- Fourth quarter sales amounted to SEK $1.89 million.

- The operating result was –2.6 million, an improvement of 1 million over the previous year. The operating result includes a one-time expense of $749,514 related to BioGaia's cancelled allergy project. Excluding this item, the operating result improved by $1.8 million.


Highlights:

Uni-President, BioGaia's Chinese dairy customer, launched a yoghurt product with Reuteri in Taiwan during the summer. The launch in China is scheduled for the beginning of 2006. Uni-President is one of the largest food products manufacturers in Taiwan and has also established substantial business in China in recent years.


BioGaia has previously signed an agreement with a French company for the sale of BioGaia's patented bottle cap with Reuteri, LifeTop Cap, in France and Belgium. Pilot runs of LifeTop Cap are under way, but certain necessary adjustments prior to the production start have taken longer than planned. The launch date will be set when these adjustments have been completed and the product is ready for sale.
