TraceTracker joins avian influenza fight

Dated: 9 February 2006

On request from Asian partners and major players in the Asian food industry, TraceTracker, a software solutions provider, is now working on a stripped down version of its Global Traceability Network (GTNet) in order to the address the challenges associated with a possible pandemic.

"Together with Asian researchers and representatives from the Asian food industry, we've established a working group to discuss possible ways of applying our traceability technology to a special AI response model," says Mr. Leif Softing, a TraceTracker board member.

TraceTracker has also met with the representative of the UN Inter Agency Working Group (IAWG) on Avian Influenza in Bangkok, and had an update on UN activities and planning. The role of the IAWG is to coordinate the efforts of UN agencies involved in AI activities—primarily WHO, UNDP and FAO.
